What is the purpose of Student Government at the University of Oregon?

The purpose of student government is to advocate, and push student issues. One of those issues is making sure that every student on campus has a voice in their student government. The student government is meant to work together with other members of the University of Oregon community to provide a mutually benefitting best outcome.

Why are you running for office?

I am running for office because I want to encourage students to be part of the decision making process. When it comes to funding and facility use planning for the Student Recreation Center students should always have a voice. I want to promote health on campus and make sure that the SRC is meeting the needs of UO students.

What relevant experience, qualifications, passions, and/or skills do you have?

I am passionate that students be heard by their elected student officials. I will listen to what all students have to say and will work to make sure that the change they want to see on campus happens. As a Political Science major I appreciate the democratic process and will respect the decisions and needs of all students.

If you are elected, how will you leverage your position to advance the needs of students?

I want to make sure that all students know what resources there are on campus and how they can get involved at the Student Recreation Center. I will work to make sure that all students feel comfortable in the SRC and know what the facilities have to offer. I pledge to make the SRC a place where all students feel welcome.

Is there any other information you want voters to know about you or your candidacy?

The United UO slate is determined to giving students a voice and making a difference in our university community.
