Tell us about yourself.

Howdy! My name is Aaron and I am a second year Philosophy Major. I'm from Portland (Oregon) and I use He/Him pronouns. My biggest passion in life is learning new things, whether it's a theory, a skill, or a perspective. Aside from that, recently I've been enjoying drawing and producing music as well as bouldering and yoga.

What are the three key issues that you've noticed on campus and hope to improve for students as an elected official? Please list each issue and briefly explain how you hope to improve it.

I'm focused on the disconnect between the people making decisions and the people who are affected by them. While things are improving on campus with the formation of the UOSW and the success of GTFF's bargaining efforts, much of what happens at UO remains behind the scenes. I believe that as the backbone of this institution students deserve a bigger role in how our campus and classes operate. I think it's all too common nowadays to feel like there's nothing we can do as individuals, and I want to help however I can in changing that. My hope is that by working with the Programs Finance Committee I can help by representing and advocating for all of our campus communities.

Why are you running?

My goal is to help bridge the gap between people with solutions and people who can implement them, and I hope to inspire others to make their voices heard and leave a mark on the system they're in. I'd want to bring more transparency to decisions made by the ASUO, Board of Trustees, and UO Foundation to keep our communities informed of what's going on around campus and what's in store for UO's future.
