Tell us about yourself.

Hello, my name is Enoch Elumba (He/Him), I am a Congolese born and raised in Japan. Now I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the U of O. I am a sophomore and my class standing is 98 credits (62 UO credits, 36 transfer credits). I like trying new things and talking to people. I strongly believe that my past experiences and my passion make me suitable for this position.

What are the three key issues that you've noticed on campus that you hope to improve for students as an elected official?
Please list each issue and briefly explain how you hope to improve it.

1. People are not informed about the resources we have. We have a fantastic list of resources provided by the university, and through outside vendors. The students need to be informed. 2. The lack of services. Having said that, we have a fantastic list of resources. There are not enough essential services at the University, such as for students having problems with mental health, finances, and food. The university has services for the aforementioned problems however, it needs to be improved. 3. Last but not least is student safety. Especially students living off-campus. Being a sophomore I have heard an increasing number of concerns towards student safety off-campus, this is something that needs to be fixed.

Why are you running?

I am running for office because I love this university. I love the atmosphere, the students, the professors, the facilities and so much more; however, there are students who don't feel the same way. That is due to lack of support or lack of resources. (Although oftentimes we do have the resources, just not known!) I want to be able to enhance students’ experience, this is my reason.
