Hi Ducks!! My name is Loretta Heinrich, I use She/Her pronouns. I am from Tacoma Washington, but am a dual citizen of the US and Germany and spent a lot of my time growing up in a town called Lauenburg. I’m a First year, pursuing a Global Studies Major, with a minor in Legal studies.
What are the three key issues that you've noticed on campus and hope to improve for students as an elected official? Please list each issue and briefly explain how you hope to improve it.
At the U of O I’ve noticed a major lack of awareness about what ASUO is and does. I want to make sure that the student body is educated on where their money is going and who is making the decisions about our school. Clubs and organizations on campus are so foundational to students finding a community here on campus. I am so excited to be running for Programs Finance because, if elected I will be able to directly work with the clubs on campus and be able to get clubs the support they need. Being a college student is hard (and expensive), If elected I will be working with students to make their time at University of Oregon easier.
Why are you running?
Ultimately, I am running for Senate because I want to make a difference in my community and leave a lasting impact on UO. I want to represent the good of the students and make sure my peers are getting the most of their time at University of Oregon. I see running as an opportunity to be actively involved in shaping the direction of this school and be able to create a better experience for everyone.
