Tell us about yourself.

Hello everyone, my name is Ronit Gupta (he/him). I am a current sophomore and I'm from Fremont, California. I am a pre-med student majoring in Human Physiology and minoring in BioEngineering, Entrepreneurship, and Chemistry. I serve on the board of the UO South Asian Cultural Alliance and I have been involved in ASUO for the current academic year.

What are the three key issues that you've noticed on campus that you hope to improve for students as an elected official?

There is a divide between ASUO Finance and organizations. ASUO Finance is constantly inconsistent with its policies, procedures, and communication standards. I would work directly with ASUOF and SOLS to make purchasing more reliable. A second issue is the tier system for student org stipend funding which relies on attendance numbers and more to determine eligibility for more stipends. Some organizations' target demographic is not as large as other organizations. I would continue to work with the Stipend Equity Committee to find and implement a new stipend model. Another issue is how people don't know what ASUO does. I will lead an initiative for ASUO to work directly with student organizations at events and meetings to promote and participate.

Why are you running?

I am running to further impact the student body. I love student organizations and departments because of their profound impact on culture, community, and more. I want to impact all student organizations and departments with ideas for events that bring them together, initiatives that will bring ASUO closer to our student body through participation in events and social media, etc. These ideas are only ideas until I have a platform through ASUO Senate
