Hey, my name is Subbu and my pronouns are he/him. I am originally from Australia but moved to the United States nine years ago. I am currently a Junior majoring in Human Physiology. My areas of study are in human physiology with an emphasis on pre-physical therapy. I am also interested in minoring in psychology or neuroscience.
What are the three key issues that you've noticed on campus that you hope to improve for students as an elected official?
Please list each issue and briefly explain how you hope to improve it.
Three Key issues that I have noticed on campus have been availability of free/affordable food options via the basic needs program and nearby grocery stores, inadequate protection against bike theft, and unreasonably strict parking tickets and inadequate parking space for cars. I will help to improve the availability of free/affordable food by moving centers like the food pantry closer to campus and increasing the hours for the food pantry so that people who have conflicting schedules will be able to attend the food pantry. Inadequate bike parking can be greatly improved by increasing the number of enclosed bike garages all around campus. Finally, making efforts to lower the cost of parking tickets and increasing the availability of parking spots for cars will be
Why are you running?
I am running for senate because I believe in the importance of public service and representing the interests and concerns of the students of this University. I am passionate about getting involved on campus because I am confident that I will be able to properly stand up for and advocate for students. I have seen how ASUO has greatly impacted the student lives but how there is also room for growth within the organization.
