My name is Tripp Repp (He/Him), and I'm a sophomore from Ashland Oregon. I've recently changed my major from Business Administration to Popular music as an effort to allow me to continue to pursue a career in music.

What are the three key issues that you've noticed on campus and hope to improve for students as an elected official? Please list each issue and briefly explain how you hope to improve it.

The first issue that I see is that students don't know what opportunities ASUO brings. I would like to combat this problem by creating pre-move-in Canvas modules that would teach incoming students about ASUO and clubs. I noticed a lack of transparency between ASUO and the student body. This problem could be dissolved by using social media as a tool and less of an advertisement. By creating a strong social media presence, uninvolved students will have a channel of direct information. It seems as like there are feuds between clubs and ASUO, causing poor allocation of money and students to dislike ASUO. In learning about how our money works, I plan on being open and unbiased towards all clubs about finances.

Why are you running?

Being involved in student life as the chapter President of my fraternity, and in two popular student bands, I’m proving that I’m on this campus to create a positive culture of success for all students. I want to change how the student body perceives ASUO by guiding the actions I take towards positive relations between students, clubs, and organizations while recognizing, acknowledging, and promoting their stories and unique backgrounds.
