Tell us about yourself.

My name is Emily Cole (she/they) and I'm a law student here at the University of Oregon. I grew up in Indiana and attended Ball State University for undergrad, where I received my B.A. in Legal Studies Pre-Law and a minor in Women and Gender Studies.

What are the three key issues that you've noticed on campus that you hope to improve for students as an elected official?
Please list each issue and briefly explain how you hope to improve it.

I want to be an advocate for graduate and professional students on campus. I am passionate about our right to unionize and organize on the campus that we have paid to attend. I want to work with students, especially non-traditional students, to establish a relationship with the campus community and secure funding for our organizations.

Why are you running?

I am running because I want to engage with the student body and students from the various graduate programs at the University. Student governance is a great way to ensure the campus community is representative of our interests. My decision to run for ASUO reflects my dedication to leadership that fosters an environment where students feel empowered to contribute to our campus community.
