Tell us about yourself.
Hi, everyone! My name is Grace Connolly (she/her), and I am a junior-standing student from Arlington, Texas. At the University of Oregon, I’m majoring in Journalism and double-minoring in Comparative Literature and Science Communication.
What are the three key issues that you've noticed on campus that you hope to improve for students as an elected official?
Three issues on campus I would like to improve as an elected official are student involvement, meeting basic needs for students, and student safety. Firstly, I believe there are many great ways for students to be involved on campus, so I want to help make these opportunities as accessible as possible by providing student organizations with the necessary resources. To help students meet basic needs, I will support and encourage programs on campus which help students limit expenses. Finally, I will advocate for a safer campus environment for our students by strengthening and spreading awareness of on-campus safety measures.
Why are you running?
I am running for Senate PFC Seat 03 because I want to be involved in improving a campus I care about. I am excited to communicate with the University of Oregon community to meet needs that will improve campus life, and I hope to foster an open network of communication around the U of O community.
