Hello, my name is Tobias Miller (he/him). I was raised here in Oregon and went to high school in a small town called Gaston. At UO, I’m a Sophomore studying Data Science with Economics.
What are the three key issues that you've noticed on campus and hope to improve for students as an elected official? Please list each issue and briefly explain how you hope to improve it.
After talking with friends and peers on campus, I’ve decided that the three issues I will focus on are the improvement of student engagement, the reduction of student costs, and the improvement of our school’s quality of education. To make sure everyone has what they need, I’ll assist student orgs in having the resources to properly advertise what they have to offer. To reduce student costs, I’ll advocate for the full-time opening of our food pantry here on campus, and support similar basic needs efforts. Finally, I’ll work to improve our quality of education by advocating that our departments utilize accessible, cohesive, and well-taught course materials.
Why are you running?
I’m running for office because I think ASUO needs people who value open communication and decision making. I think that by gathering the perspectives of a diverse range of students, administrators and faculty, I can help my peers here in ASUO make honest, informed decisions.
