Tell us about yourself.

I am running for vice president with UO Student Power, and am currently a ROAR Center Co-Director, UO YDSA Socialist Feminist Chair, and was involved with the restart of UO’s Students for Justice in Palestine chapter. My pronouns are they/she and I was raised in Bend, Oregon. I am currently a sophomore studying History, Spatial Data Science & Technology, and Religious Studies.

What are the three key issues that you've noticed on campus that you hope to improve for students as an elected official?
Please list each issue and briefly explain how you hope to improve it. 

Reproductive Rights: I will campaign for the autonomy of students at this university and their rights to accessible reproductive care. As the Socialist Feminist Chair I have led UO YDSA’s campaign for medicated abortion on campus and would fight to implement this fully. Cultural and Activist Org Autonomy: ASUO consistently makes the bureaucratic process incredibly difficult for cultural and activist organizations to work their way through. We must streamline the process for organizations to get funding they require for events, travel, etc. Quality Affordable Education: The university prioritizes the influence of trustees over the needs of students who are being excessively charged for essential education that they struggle to access. Students face challenges in classes due to the shortage of staff and the university's apparent 

Why are you running?

I am running for office because ASUO needs to be an organization that actually upholds its claim of supporting student organizations. As Vice President I would work with leaders and students who are involved with improving the university campus, its policies, and the greater Eugene area. As a student organizer I have seen the power that students hold on this campus and how we can make the significant change that needs to happen to benefit.
