Hi everyone, my name is Aggie Alfred and I am so excited to be running for Senate Seat Number 15! I go by she/her/hers pronouns and am a sophomore from Portland, Oregon, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Legal Studies and Criminology, on the Pre-Law track.

What are the three key issues that you've noticed on campus that you hope to improve for students as an elected official?

Student Parking: I hope to implement free 15-minute parking zones across campus to ease accessibility, reduce the cost of term parking permits, and introduce a parking security protocol that will guarantee that students are given warnings before being ticketed. Inclusive and Permanent Food Pantry: I want to help establish a permanent food pantry on campus for round-the-clock access, ensuring all students feel comfortable accessing it anytime. Similarly, I hope to increase the frequency and hours of the produce drop to multiple times per week, catering to students' schedules. Disconnect Between ASUO and The Student Body: I hope to bridge the gap between student government and the student body by fostering an open-door policy and better communication at the ASUO office, eliminating perceived power dynamics.

Why are you running?

I'm running for a seat in the ASUO Senate because I believe in the power of representation. Each student brings a unique perspective and set of needs to our campus community, and I want to ensure that every voice is heard and valued. My goal is to create an environment where students feel supported and understood. I'm passionate about fostering a sense of unity and inclusivity, where individuals' concerns are acknowledged and actively addressed.
