Why are you running in the ASUO Elections?
Right when I came to campus I wanted to make a difference in student life. I have started this journey by taking on an executive position with the FSL office. In my current role as the VP of Recruitment for IFC I aim to increase student involvement on campus through greek life. Already, I have learned so much on what it takes to create an output of results when considering my goal. I am running in the ASUO elections because I want my voice to be heard and I believe that I have the urgency, the activation, and the discipline to make that happen.
Is there a particular ASUO funded service or organization (or multiple) that you are passionate about and hope to work with? Why?
The Holden Center for Leadership and Community Engagement is one ASUO-funded institution that I have a strong interest in. As a student, I have personally witnessed how community involvement and leadership training contribute to a well-rounded college experience. The Holden Center gives students the chance to advance their careers, hone their leadership abilities, and take part in community service projects that benefit the university and the larger area. Fostering student success requires making sure it continues to be accessible and well-funded. I would also like to collaborate with the Club Sports program. These groups support kids' well-being, discipline, and teamwork, which benefits their mental and physical health. I want to make sure resources are distributed efficiently to support student athletes because funding decisions affect travel, equipment, and competition possibilities. I would be dedicated to maintaining openness and prudent funding distribution as a Finance Senator/At-Large Member to support vital student initiatives. I intend to optimize the impact of ASUO's budget and speak up for the concerns of students by collaborating closely with these units.
