Why are you running in the ASUO Elections?
Hi! I grew up in Portland, OR, and love the outdoors (especially when there isn’t liquid sunshine). I am a first-year student majoring in Accounting and minoring in Political Science. At the UO, I have enjoyed supporting our athletic teams, attending Beta Alpha Psi accounting events, volunteering to help community members with their tax returns through the VITA program, and doing ice cream runs to Prince Pucklers. I look forward to working with Uber to subsidize rides and the Co-Op Family Center to continue funding their operations.
As one of the most front facing parts of ASUO, how do you plan on making these interactions as positive as possible for students?
As a CFC Senator, I would be focused on calm communication and being as transparent as possible while advocating for the policies and ideas I represent. I believe that being honest and over-communicating solves many issues before they occur. I will be understanding of other perspectives and listen to others before sharing my own thoughts and ideas. We all come from different backgrounds and can learn a lot by listening to others' ideas.
How are you connected to the academic programs you represent? How will you utilize these connections to best represent students?
I am enthusiastic about continuing to support the Co-Op Family Center and making campus resources more accessible. I also aim to advocate for a variety of transportation options to effectively serve our campus community.
