Why are you running in the ASUO Elections?

Heyo! I’m Sarah Quesenberry (she/her). I am a JD/MPA student and am from Salem, UT! I am a second-year law student and a first-year masters student. I’ve seen the disconnect between ASUO and the law school and how it affects student organizations, especially those in the law school. It is frustrating to see my peers spend their time and energy navigating ASUO policy. So, I’ve decided to run to fix that disconnect and represent the needs of the law school on the main campus. I aim to clarify ASUO policy to ease confusion and frustration!

As one of the most front facing parts of ASUO, how do you plan on making these interactions as positive as possible for students?

I plan on making these interactions as positive as possible by taking the time to listen, understand, and validate student concerns. Further, I aim to be clear in what ASUO needs and to provide aid in anyway to help students receive the support they seek from ASUO. I know how stressful it can be to appear at Senate Hearings, so I plan on being approachable, happy, and patient as I provide support and information to students and their organizations.
