Why are you running in the ASUO Elections?
I am running in the ASUO election with the goal of uniting the student body and ensuring that student voices are heard. Too many issues in our community have been neglected, and my colleagues and I are committed to fostering better student outreach to address real concerns. As a CFC member, I will work closely with contracts and service providers both on and off campus to secure the best deals and resources for students. Above all, I am dedicated to prioritizing student needs and safety, and I will do everything in my power to serve our community effectively.
As one of the most front facing parts of ASUO, how do you plan on making these interactions as positive as possible for students?
I believe the most effective way to encourage student involvement and feedback is by creating an open, inclusive, and welcoming space. To put it bluntly: we need to listen. Our responsibility is to serve students first, and that means ensuring that individuals from all backgrounds and experiences have a voice in the decision-making process. Of course, this is easier said than done. As a member of ASUO, I will push for stronger student outreach and make it a top priority. Whether through mass surveys, social media engagement, or special events, I am committed to actively seeking student input and making sure their concerns are heard and addressed. I promise to do my best to connect with you and advocate for your needs.
Is there a particular ASUO funded service or organization (or multiple) that you are passionate about and hope to work with? Why?
I believe that expanding and maintaining accessible transportation options for students is one of the Contracts Finance Committee’s most significant accomplishments. Ensuring that our current agreements with companies like Uber or Lyft remain in place would be a top priority for me as a committee member. Additionally, I am committed to supporting our bus and bicycle services, keeping them financially sustainable while also maximizing savings for other student-focused initiatives. I understand that negotiating these agreements can be complex, but I am eager to learn and dedicated to securing the best possible outcomes for students. Reliable and affordable transportation is essential for student success, safety, and well-being, and I will work diligently to ensure these services remain available and beneficial to our community.
